Cross Crawl - This movement activates both hemispheres of the brain at the same time. Raise the right knee and touch it to the left elbow (or hand) then raise the left knee and touch it to the right elbow (or hand). Repeat for the desired amount of time.
Hook Ups - This complex crossover action works similarly. The sensory and motor portions of the brain are activated connecting emotions with reason helping us to learn and respond effectively.
Stretch arms out in front of you, cross them with palms facing. Interlock fingers. Roll the locked hands down and in toward the body then rest them on the chest. Next, cross one ankle over the other. Finally, place your tongue on the roof of the mouth behind the front teeth. Stand, sit, or lie down for 2- 5 minutes.
